Wedderburn

Wedderburn may be at the bottom of campus and farther from academic buildings and the student's union, however this means it is in a fairly quiet and peaceful location. The rooms are very spacious and the kitchen are modern and roomy enough to be shared between 8 students. It's close to the gym and sports facilities which is great and not too far from Medicine if you want to go to Toast on a Monday night! Overall I've loved staying here and would definitely recommend Wedderburn!

It is a nice place to live as it is quiet and a well looked after building. The atomosphere and people are lovely and the location is beautiful.

Facilities are really good, well equipped and good sized kitchen. The rooms are a good size equipped with an en suite and small double bed, large desk and plenty of storage space. Social life is great in Wedderburn, only downside to this is there is no common room open for all to use at any point. Main downside is being further away from central campus compared to most other halls of residences.

Wedderburn Hall is a lovely modern accomdation with such nice big rooms with double beds and en-suite. The kitchen is also perfect in size and lovely and modern.

Nice room, large with big bed and plenty of storage space and a great height desk by the window. Bathroom more of a wet room, especially when you shower, but easy to clean and dries pretty quickly. A walk uphill gets you to campus, so only like 10 mins walk to other side of campus. Everyone in my flat is really friendly and we all cook together, and the wifi is fab once you are all up and connected. There aren't really any social areas though.

Room spacious and lovely and makes you feel at home. Kitchen needed more social space, perhaps sofas so you could socialise with your flat mates more. Expensive but definitely worth the price

Down the hill, awful maintenance/security services. Depends on the people you live with. Little storage space

Amazing rooms and kitchen. Lovely double bed. Toilet can be better but is fine. 6 minute walk to lectures and seminars.

Location: great for those regularly doing sports or going to the gym as wedderburn are the closest halls however slightly further to go to lectures although as RHUL is a relatively small campus it’s still only 10min walk to get to the top of campus. Social Experience: Flats of 8 people so enough to socialise with however communal area is in Gower so I’ve never been there and don’t know anyone that has. Kitchens are big enough to host people though. Facilities: En-suit is great to have but did have a few plumbing issue in first term cleaners come every week day which is very useful. Toaster and kettle are both too cheap brand new toaster broke in only a few months and kettle almost broken they are good enough quality for 8 students to share also the hoover smells of vomit everytime it’s used housekeeping have been informed but haven’t done anything. Room: a good size nice to have a double bed but mattress is very uncomfortable clearly in a poor condition and needs replacing. There is plenty of storage and a nice size window. Overall very happy with the room.

Although not central campus, the location is close to everything and it is really quiet. The halls are only a short walk to the back gate which is a quick way to the town and the train station. The sports centre is also really close. The quality of the rooms and kitchens are way above the student standard, I can't think of any complaints other than a few minor things that broke but these were fixed promptly within a few days!

Fabulous accommodation large room, double bed, en suite and nicely laid out. The furthest out accommodation from the main education centre of campus but that is a positive I would argue as it distances living from learning. Expensive but reasonable for all of the above.

Good sized and designed rooms however could do with more draw storage as there is only one draw. Could also do with supplying tenants with the key to the lockable cupboard and draw, a really good idea for valuables but without the key a little pointless. Cleaners could do with doing a bit more cleaning than just tidying up which is what they seem to do could do with showers being updated or de-scaled more regularly mattresses need replacing ASAP dont think theyve been changed since the building has been opened but you can now tell as the springs wedge up inbetween your ribs, 8 year rule cmon something should also be done about the signal and wifi conections as both are pretty shocking

Great area full of students but not too central - quiet enough If a night out was on! Maintenance was an issue...some people would report problems and it wouldn't be fixed for at least 2 weeks. Overall experience was very good but a lot of it is chance of who you get in your flat

Great room. Huge witha double bed, loads of storage space and an ensuite. Tucked towards the bottom of the campus but had a real community feels. Everything you needed was close by.

The room itself is lovely, clean and modern with wood furniture which shows a natural feel, and plenty of storage, including above the door and under the bed. The bathroom is more of a -- wet room and the floor floods every time, and the door must be shut whenever used otherwise the fire alarm will go off (all the time!) Wedderburn is lucky enough to have all brand-new kitchens compared to some other halls like Williamson and Butler. There is only one oven, microwave and kettle -- but once you get to know each other it is easily managed. There is a common room, however, we often find it is locked and it is both cramped and dark. Also, the laundry room is in the building opposite (Gowar). Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend it as one of the best at Royal Holloway.
