The perks of edinburgh cannot be summarised in a few words. Briefly, its welcoming atmosfere is simply magical, with all the gotic architectures and the countless landmarks which enrich the city. When it comes to the nightlife, Edinburgh can satisfy everyone's needs, from party animals to theatre enthusiasts. Finally, thanks to its international character, the the choice of ethnic food is basically endless.

I have been living and studying in Edinburgh for about 4 years. It has been amazing, the city is beautiful. There still so much that I havent seen, I went to Portobello beach the other day and I loved it.

Excellent student city, big enough that theres plenty to do but small enough that theres a close knit community. Now at the end of my degree, I wouldn't have chosen to study anywhere else.

Edinburgh is a great city for students. It is the perfect mix between modern and historic. The campus (UoE) is beautiful and centrally located, making it easy to pop to the shops or go for a drink. Edinburgh is lucky to have fantastic public transport 24 hours a day. I’ve made it my home now!

A brilliant, historic city that is year on year pricing students students to live and study in the city. Plenty of options for food/drink/nights out but is pricey if you rely on your own money.

We have had a great weekend in Edinburgh. We loved walking through the meadows even though it wasn’t sunny! We highly recommend Thrive restaurant in Bruntsfield and dishroom for breakfast on St. Andrews square.

The city is fantastic and has great views everywhere. The nights out are very nice with your buddies and during the night the city is quite safe and vibrant. During the day, there are many things to do and many are within walking distance. The scenery is captivating.

More beautiful natural landscapes than any other city and so many different food options! Looks most beautiful at night. All the people are so friendly and the public transport is by far the best in Scotland.

Edinburgh is a wonderful city that has everything you would ever wish for. It’s got it’s interesting historical side with the Castle on an astonishing volcanic rock and the many ‘ghost tours’ through the spooky Medieval alleys of the Old Town. It’s got its modern side, with revolutionary architectural buildings such as Craiglockart Napier University, high end shops on Princes street and the city’s focus on contemporary art. These are just a few of the things that make Edinburgh. For a student, it’s the perfect city too. Most student accomodation are walking distance or a short bus ride from the student bars and nightclubs, which abound in genre variety both in the New Town and the Old Town. Edinburgh also doesn’t lack affordable supermarkets with tons of deals for students, making adulting a little easier. Getting around in this town couldn’t be easier: buses are on time and cover a huge number of routes, which allow you to get from one side of town to the other simply using one bus; however, the city centre has pretty much everything you may need, and it’s all reachable on foot.

Edinburgh is a lovely city to live in and study. It is pretty safe compare to other big cities so you don't have to worry you'll get mugged/ get into a fight on your nights out. The food here is amazing you'll never run out of choices plus there's so many vegan/vegetarian restaurants, and honestly they're the best. My favourite is Karma Kebab (they do vegan kebab!) and Lazy Lettuce, Artisan cheesecakes do the best cheesecakes you'll ever taste (and that's not an exaggeration). The architecture of Edinburgh is simply stunning, I promise you'll never get bored of it. If you're an outdoorsy person like myself Edinburgh has plenty of parks and green areas like Arthur's seat (you can see the whole city from up there). There's plenty of gyms, swimming pools, 3 climbing walls, and active stuff to do. The only problem with the city is housing and accommodation because rent prices are very high and most of the flats are really old and cold (especially in the city centre) so it's kinda hard to find something decent for a reasonable price but otherwise Edinburgh is a beautiful city, people here are super friendly and helpful. I'd 10/10 recommend to choose studying in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a fantastic city to study for university. It is a great mix between feeling like a bustling capital city but small enough to not feel like you could get lost! The cultural scene is unparalleled, especially in August during the Fringe that is right in the heart of the student area. Edinburgh also has a great nightlife, with lots of clubs in the ‘vaults’ underneath the old bridges of the city. These are really cool and totally unique to Edinburgh. It even has a beach that is only 20 minutes away! It has everything - I would definitely recommend Edinburgh to any prospective student!

Edinburgh is my favourite place, it is my home now. Edinburgh is vastly multi-cultural, friendly and has an accepting atmosphere. There are hundreds of amazing restaurants of all cuisines and so many that are good for people who are on a budget..

Edinburgh is a lovely city! Especially for students. You can get student discount kind of everywhere you go - up to 25% at some restaurants!! I felt welcome and well since the first day I moved here. Every single person is nice and so warming. The night out is not too expensive, it's definitely student friendly though. I can't imagine that you can not love the city. Never felt so good and right to live at a place

Beautiful city with rich culture and nice restaurants. Cab vol is such a fun time for nights out, as is the grass market and cowgate. Shopping on Princess Street is great as you get a perfect view of the castle, especially at the West End. The city feels big enough whilst maintaining a safe and friendly environment.

When I first arrived at uni I was skeptical about Edinburgh but when I was a kid I always went to the festival and that gave me find memories to remember while I was there. When I had spare time I would ask my pals what were the best things to.do in Edinburgh and I began exploring this beautiful city from the inside out. I began visiting the amazing museums whenever I wasn't studying, and I even met my girlfriend in the art museum. I visited the cool vintage shops of the grass market and perusing the ancient but stylish attire. I often went to the berito shops for lunch and I always had fond memories of that, it gave me a fantastic boost of happiness whenever I was down. I honestly can't recommend Edinburgh More. I had and still have great days out there.

Lost to do from nights outs in clubs including WhyNot, Burbon, Shanghai, all have student nights, lots of restaurants, museums, art galleries, beaches, parks, shopping centres, train links to many other cities

Edinburgh is a beautiful city. Everywhere you look there is something to do. For shopping, Edinburgh is the place to be. Princes Street, the main street of shopping has everything. However, if you step into Morningside there's a wonderful selection of charity shops which if you're a vinyl record collecter, you can come across some bargains. There are a prolific number of eateries in the city, catering to all diets, allergies and tastes. From independent places like Graze in the Grassmarket to Wagamamas and Nandos.

I recently moved to Edinburgh because of studies and I am already loving my time here. The compact size of Edinburgh with all its cobbled streets a maze of wynds and closes means that getting around this beautifully architectural city means that many people can walk, cycle or catch a short bus to work rather than having long commutes. The main part of the city is made up of two halves - The Old Town and New Town both with a real distinctive character and atmosphere. The best thing about Edinburgh is the incomparable location due to the countryside being a stone’s throw away and the Highlands only a short drive away. Absolutely recommended to visit this beautiful city.

Edinburgh is a fantastic city which plenty of stuff going on. The city has a great culture scene with loads of theatres, cinemas, museums (obviously the fringe). Great places to eat out, near the sea and easy to get into the country

Great place to live, feel very safe. Rent prices are a little high but very happy with the flat I currently live in. Lots of things to do and see which makes weekend plans easy to plan. Lots of independent shops and cafes which I like.
