Edinburgh

I lived in Edinburgh for around a year. I prefer it to living in England. Some people have a very strong Scottish accent and everything is much slower than other cities across the globe. Edinburgh Castle is a major tourist attraction but not that great. It is close to a Botanic display. Calton Hill is very close to some construction work and the view from Waverley Station is probably the best view of the city. After that there are just farms.

Edinburgh is a beautiful city. So stunning and sets such a nice scene for studying and living without a doubt. If you're a big town person though Edinburgh in the grand scheme of things isn't that big after a while, yet all the necessities are there. The nightlife isn't the best but its still always a good laugh! On arrival there seems to be an unlimited amount of things to do and see but after four years you've pretty much seen it all.

The night life is great. Best in class. But there are no food options past midnight unfortunately. City transportation is usually reliable. Buses run less on Sunday though. Shopping can be a bit expensive as are chip shops. Avoid new town for food unless you are willing to spend. Also has lovely natural landscapes. Arthurs seat is great for walks and runs. Calton hill is a great tourist attraction.

Its soo lovely, Princes street is filled with soo many retail stores and food places. The castle can be seen from the city centre and that’s incredible

Ridiculously expensive, but nice sized city. Lots of culture lots of stuff to do, a lot of places to get food. Lots of clubs so good nightlife, but only two food places open past 2am so that's not great.

I think being at Edinburgh uni the location is great because it is right in the town centre. This means that in terms of food thier is a great choice with lots of places giving student discount.

The location of my uni is sort of in the middle of nowhere therefore wouldn't say it is the best. There is also no place for parking so it makes it hard to get to.

Great city, lots of options for food and drink every where you go and more and more are cropping up more often, nightlife is really good especially the local music scene! Lots of great little venues such as the mash house and sneaky petes!

Edinburgh's a beautiful town with lots of nice places to walk around in. The nightlife is varied with some cool pubs and bars although the clubs are mostly pretty small and nowhere stays open past 3am (except during the fringe) so it's not really a place for going out raving. It is a very international city with lots of tourists and exchange students which makes it a vibrant and interesting place, but it is also very expensive compared to most UK cities, especially for renting a flat.
