Collingwood is an amazing college with fantastic student clubs and societies as well as an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. From the staff to the older students, everyone goes out of their way to check in on you. Sadly the room price for all Durham University accommodation has been going up year on year with minimal refurbishment. The pantries in Collingwood aren't up to the standard of many other (usually more modern) colleges on the hill, however, this is made up for by all the other fantastic facilities such as a 3G pitch, theatre, modern gym and dance studio and most importantly a great college bar and JCR area.

Great atmosphere and will have excellent facilities including a gym and a theatre post construction work. Rooms are nearly all singles but could do with a revamp. Located conveniently near the science site

The college system is so amazing for integrating people together, forming a community and providing a competitive environment for inter-university sports.

Definitely a weird experience living in college rather than halls. Great place though, bar and JCR downstairs, shop, cafe, decent food: overall pretty good. We had smaller pantries instead of kitchens which meant there wasn’t much space or really a communal area for the floor - made the initial socialising a little harder. Room was good - not ensuite but not far from a loo, though mine was on the wrong side of the corridor for the shower. Storage decent and had a sink. There are also far better rooms in college so considering mine was on the lower end I had no problems at all. Only downfall for me was not having a fully function kitchen and having to adjust to eating food at set meal times (usually 2 hour periods where you can come and go - Collingwood is a catered college), but if you’ve come from a boarding school this probably isn’t so weird. Little far up the hill for my liking, bout a half hour walk to and from town, but the busses are either free with a campus card or just £1.

Very good facilities, with a range of options. Room was clean and perfect in size but en suite rooms are a lot better. Quite pricy however

The ensuite rooms are very nice, but they are few. Rooms get cleaned regularly, although some of the pantries aren’t that clean and some of the corridors don’t have pantries. There are many formals, which are usually fairly good. The formal dinners are nice, and the ENTs committee do put a lot of effort into sorting the events. The caterered meals are decent, but prepare to spend a lot of time in toastie shop and craving homecooked meals. A lovely atmosphere that allows people to meet lots of new people.

Not good value for money, the food is a rip off, my wifi is intermittent and the non-en-suite bathroom facilities are grim
