Rooms alright although furniture not very sturdy, shower makes everything in bathroom damp as extractor fan doesn't work properly and drain doesn't work well. Kitchen could do with sofas or a space to socialise. Handy to have a study room on site and easily accessible by bus despite being further from uni campus.

These halls are quite obviously the worst available at Dundee as they are completely outdated in relevance to the other accommodation available. The location is horrendous, requiring a 20 minute walk to anything of interest or neccessity. Other accommodation is based right in the University with better standards and a convenience store a 1 minute walk from the door. The kitchen was the only social area for our flat of 10 males and didnt even have enough working seats for 10 of us. Nowhere near enough kitchen space or fridge space to accommodate 10 people. Living in west park really left a negative outlook of my first year at university.

Too many people in flat and not enough room to accommodate everyone. Overall the flat and rooms were nice.

Delayed common room refurbishment meant that it was not available for the whole year and the fridge freezer has broken twice meaning we've lost loads of food :( it's not handy for the uni, which we knew when we applied for accomodation, but be prepared to have a half hour round trip for anything from the shops!!

I have mixed opinions about west park villas as official UoD student accommodation. Firstly, it is roughly a mile away from the main campus. Granted the route is covered by public transport but this can be costly and not available late at night. West park villas is offered at £550 per month which is the lowest rate for UoD halls and includes all bills and wifi. This is extortionate considering there are 10 students per villa and average shared accommodation price in Dundee is around 300-400 per person. My villa consisted of 10 bedrooms and a large shared kitchen with 2 fridges, cookers, freezers. Rooms were generally sound proof but the noise levels of revelling students outside window at weekends was sometimes ridiculous. Each bedroom came with en suite toilet/wet room with shower and bed, desk and cupboards. A handyman/security officer sits on duty at reception during day/nighttime. A common located near entrance is good way to meet fellow students from neighbouring villas. Perhaps best feature of west park is its west-end location affording beautiful views over river Tay and Perthshire.
