Great change from.home but wouldn't consider it the safest or friendliest place considering I've been mugged and shouted at by drunkards.

Coventry is a fun, convenient, multicultural city built to accommodate university students needs. Transport is easy with bus stop in every corner of the street taking you around the city and even to other cities further away like Leicester, Sollihul & Birmingham. The train station minutes away from the city center taking you to places like London within an hour. The 2main night clubs Jj's and Kasbah are great venues for students to let loose and meet new people with good music and lots of alcohol!

When arriving in Coventry, you quickly pick up on the historical value of the city. Right in the centre, of Broadgate is a beautiful replica of Lady Godiva, on her horse which rode the streets of Coventry centuries ago. The shopping centre is sufficient, although quite small if you're more used to the west London shopping life, like I am. I would advise you to get errands done as early as possible as most shops shut from 5-6pm on weekdays and a lot earlier on Sundays. I would agree that life in Coventry is a lot cheaper, although that isn't very hard, coming from a Londoner. If you want a bargain, you will definitely find it. Restaurants in the city centre are also quite quirky and energetic. However, a majority of student accommodation and housing are covered through delivery services such as Deliveroo and Uber eats. Most postcodes can get McDonalds delivered to them in under half an hour. The night life is also very impressive. Different clubs exist for the different types of students in Coventry - everyone can have a good night out. Uber fare home is especially cheap although you will be more than likely within walking distance of a local nightclub. The main tip, I would give to anyone moving to Coventry is to never overestimate or compare it to other cities. If you view it as a small, metropolitan city of the working class - then it will live up to your expectations. (Also never bring up the Coventry vs Warwick rivalry. Maybe one day Warwick will beat us a football)

Colly and jacks are the only clubs really, loads to do in free time like cinema, ice rink, shopping or go out to eat. Loads of shops and retail parks and there's lots of different places to eat out too

Coventry is a really diverse area, with the universities, NHS and JLR the main employers. The City centre is orientated towards the student life, with multiple gyms, restaurants, private student accommodation blocks (£150 a week for a shared flat anyone?!) and good transport networks. The cons - it's full of students. It can mean that buses fill up quickly and it can get really busy in term time and more like a ghost town the rest of the time. The locals also count as a con - there is a lot of deprivation in some areas.

Plenty to do in terms of tourism, food and drink, and shopping. Transport links to Birmingham and surrounding areas are also quite good, meaning you have the world at your doorstep. In addition you won't be far from Birmingham International giving you access to cheap flights.

Coventry is not the best city for students and student life. Restaurant options are limited as are nightclubs and bars and shopping in general. The main downside of living in Coventry is the lack of things to do/go to in groups which has meant that my housemates do not go out frequently in this city. Compared to other universities I have visited, it is very mediocre.

Has basically the bare minimum for any town. Decent variety of shops, pubs and a few decent restaurants and a cinema. Is lacking anything else enough, so there's very few live music venues or anything mildly interesting.

Coventry as a city is not what I had expected, the area itself is very poor. Nights out in coventry is great, with different clubs being open different nights of the week(end), the transport itself is not worth the money considering the quality of the bus and the wait time between buses as compared to Reading(town) so I have 95% of the time used Uber or Taxi while at Coventry. I personally do not go shopping in coventry as the retailers are quite on the low-end and limited, so I usually travel to Birmingham, and for grocery shopping I usually end up taking a uber to and back from Asda, Lidl etc, as the Sainsbury in the University area charges over the Retail price (RRP) as stated in the website, so shopping tends to be cheaper even if £9-10 is being spent on travel. Eating out? limited choice in restaurant although most of the nice restaurant are asian food which is good to try, but wish there was more choice in coventry, as most of the places to eat out tend to be chicken shops. Having had lived in both London and Reading, Coventry does feel like a run-down city, as the value of staying in coventry as a student is high in comparison to the general people living in this city. Prices for students housing accommodation is unjustified for its price as the house prices are half of that of Reading(town) and the cost of rent for students(only) in coventry is higher than of those in other towns and cities.

A great advantage for Coventry is that it's quite cheap to live in, and it's very easy to get to Birmingham or London. A few pounds can get you a train ticket to London if you have a railcard, and it only takes an hour or so. I don't go out much on weekends, but from what I've seen the nightlife seems quite good. I wouldn't describe it as a place you'd feel particularly safe in, but there's much worse in other places

As a student from Coventry university, the people are friendly and nice. There are enough shops to buy groceries and clothes. For tourists, the coventry cathedral is the best place for them to visit as it is a beautiful ruin from the cause of bombings. There is also a newly built cathedral with pretty tinted windows. Overall, Coventry is a nice place to live and study as it has good people and places to visit.

Not many night clubs, there are a few pubs where they have kind of low prices. A few good restaurants in the town, however during the weekend they are very crowded.

Only good if you're a student. Decent shopping centre. Some uni nights out are well worth it. Affordable city. Needs more entertainment facilities and restaurants.

Beautiful city with many lovely people, the locals are very helpful and patient. The city has a calming vibe to it, even in rush hour, Coventry is very calm. Everything is convenient, to the buses and restaurants. There are many different restaurants in Coventry, from Chinese to Italian food.

Coventry is a lovely town and so close to Birmingham so anything you haven't found in Coventry can be found in the surrounding area.

Great city! Lots of shops and is definitely getting better with all of the new restaurants. The town is becoming a lot more cleaner and the space is being opened out.

Nights out not very good, shopping is average and there is a slight variance of things to do but not a massive choice, overall the city could do with refurbishments and better night life to bring more entertainment to the area a lot of it is quite run down so not very appealing

Food is not that great need a variety of food available. They have good shopping centres here with a variety of things to buy good value for money

Studying at Warwick uni you'll probably spend some time in Coventry. But you'd be best going on night outs in Leanington or staying on campus. The shopping centre is quite good though.

Quite dangerous in the crime aspect. However, the food that is available around the city is very nice and has a lot of variety

Coventry has everything from fast food to restaurants overlooking lakes, from your small retail parks such as the arena shopping park and central six to a larger city centre full of a large variety of shops. Also in the town centre you can find the historic Coventry cathedral ruins from the bombings of WW2 along side the new and modern cathedral. You will also find a variety of different parks and open spaces such as the war memorial park and Combe abbey. There is so much to do in Coventry you wouldn't be bored upon a visit. We also have two theatres (the Belgrade and the Albany) hosting shows all year round as well as an art gallery, transport museum and famous Coventry market. There really is something for everyone.

Coventry has a nice vibe to the city centre. The nights out are good, some night clubs are better/busier on some days rather than others. There are all the standard high street shops here and it is overall fairly good value for money
