Liberty Quays

A very good accommodation with lots of new people to meet. Very clean and welcoming. Unfortunately some people can be abit loud and annoying. Also some people do not know how to properly clean up after themselves therefore the communal kitchen area is often terrible. The small Tesco and subway are extremely convinient and have everything you need in terms of food. The shelves are very well stocked and the staff friendly and helpful too.

The only nice thing about Liberty Quays is Asda five minutes away and Domino's Pizza ever nearer. That's it. The staff is obnoxious and unhelpful, people get robbed all the time and the fire alarms go off in the middle of the night. When we complain about excessive noise, nothing's handled and if you have any problems over the weekend you have to wait until Monday. The ensuite rooms are nice but too small for the price we're paying. Worst accommodation I've ever lived in, would not recommend.

All accommodation here is ensuite which is a major plus. However, there have been several ongoing issues such as the cooker. One of two cookers has been broken all year and they have come to fix it more than once but it keeps breaking. As well as this, there have been several issues with many about radiators that don’t turn off which is very uncomfortable in the summer. Even so, the reception is open 23 hours of the day. Security are always willing to help when you have a complaint and everyone is quite friendly.

The student accommodation is very pricey for what you get and I’m having a bad first year experience with untidy flat mates. The on-site staff are very unhelpful with maintenance faults such as my toilet not flushing for many days and a poor working shower head. I will definitely be renting outside of this accommodation next academic year.

Good room size for student. 15 mins walk from medway campus 30 secs walk from Tesco express, cargo student restaurant, Subway and Dominos It would be nice to fill out a preference before hand (e.g. choice of living with smokers, clean and tidy students...)

Quite expensive and not in the best of areas, however clean ad very modern. Rooms are a decent size however some kitchens could be larger to accomodate another fridge / freezer. Would also be nice to allow mini fridges in rooms after they have been safety tested. Good facilities and social life is good.

Bills are included however it's noisy, expensive, overpriced and the reception staff are disgusting.

Room and bed are large and nice with maintenance bills included however it is overpriced, some staff are rude and it's just a robbery of student money. 80% of student finance goes to living here which is ridiculous.

Gillingham is grim. Liberty Quays is overpriced but far better than a student house, wish I had stayed there for second year. Student House agencies here are crooks. Also there's a Tesco Express, Dominos, Subway opposite Liberty and an Asda around the corner, so thats always nice

Nice and modern accommodation with good amenities right at your doorstep, and the security guards were nice, but reception staff were rude. Also fire alarms went off regularly, which isn't the staff's fault, but it would often take a long time for them to be turned off.

The halls I lived in hadn’t very good security, great postal service and the rooms were fairly spacious. However, the bathrooms were tiny, you couldn’t turn in the shower without elbowing something. There was a bar run by the university underneath my room called Cargo which served lovely food and fairly priced drinks. The laundrette was very expensive for students and they were often out of order or needed two wash/dry cycles.

Nice accommodation, nice to be living people also in first year. Having an ensuite is amazing as well, so you only have to share a kitchen. It’s close to the University and supermarkets. Also the shuttle bus to Canterbury stops right outside.

Living at liberty was great, it was off campus but only a short walk to uni and the library so great in revision periods! It was comfortable with great facilities and really modern. If anything ever needed fixing the staff were more than happy to help!

Modern building with ensuite, everyone's friendly, including flatmates. Close to tesco express, subway and Domino's (only downstairs which is good). Have clubs nearby or can get the bus to go to clubbing events together. A lot of flat parties around Liberty, always live and can meet new people. Only 15 mins walk to uni.

Lovely rooms and great design! they are very new buildings so this is expected. However, the fire alarm protocol is ridiculous, and they go off a lot. The people that set them off get away with it alot. Phase 2 is much nicer than phase 1(first year halls), although both halls are really modern. Much nicer than the others i saw when i was looking around universities! Its a 15 min walk from uni and also has tesco, dominos and subway attached to it, with a 5 min walk to a huge asda. I personally am not a fan of the area though. A disadvantage would be that theres not many ways to integrate with people in different blocks unless you go clubbing etc!
