Brampton Road Halls

The location of Brampton Road halls was great, especially if your course is based in the main university building. It's a 10 minute walk into the centre of Carlisle. Closest large supermarket is Morrisons which is a 20 minute walk. The facilities at halls aren't great. Each flat consists of 7 people and there is 2 flats per floor. Those 14 people have to share 2 toilets and 2 showers. There are cleaners but the bathrooms are never clean. The social experience is great because it gives you a chance to meet new people and make amazing memories. There are no living rooms/tv rooms in halls and therefore you have to be social in bedrooms or hallways. The bedrooms are decently sized with a built in wardrobe, sink, desk and shelves.

Great living right next to the university, great people close knit, you know pretty much everyone in halls since it's small, though that's great the space can be an issue, the shared bathrooms are quite small and a small amount of space for a kitchen, though still great for parties and drinking, Denton halls had all the high end features but the house parties are shockingly bad... unless you study musical theatre and like listening to high school musical until early in the morning

Everyone is really friendly and the staff are helpful and make you feel at home and I was worried about moving away from home but after few weeks it felt like home

Decent little rooms with quite a bit of storage, however at Brampton we don't have any kind of social area, I only know people from one other flat in my block through my course. The shared toilets aren't great either, often mucky and smelly after people's Saturday nights, showers get blocked easily but are cleaned weekly by the uni and I always gave mine a spray before I used it! Kitchens are compact but all worked well for us! Even had a dining table for the odd occasion the flat members actually left our rooms! Nice and close to uni and only 15mins into town on foot, a pretty good little Halls for the price.
