Whenever I go to venue I tend to sober up a lot in the queue. If you go make sure you have a queue pass or get there at a good time. Also drinks are quite a bit so make sure you have a good pres before you go out.

Great night out, great drink prices, had lots of fun here best thing to have on campus and I brought my friends and we all really enjoyed it here, absolutely wicked night out, banging music

Good atmosphere, big dancefloor and cheap drinks but the music can get a bit samey sometimes if you're one of those people that's going to go to every single event. Generally a good night out though!

Venue offers a night out for all students. The concept is simple and works very good. For students run by students, to make sure everyone can have a good time.

Venue is localized student club, located in campus at the University of Kent. The drinks are cheap on any student night and the music is really down to preference. If you're about the EDM scene Vednesday is your jam. NXT for the R&B crowd. The bouncers can be a bit tedious at times and a little biased but they handle their duties well. The students are open to talk to in the queue and smoking area and overall the place is made with students in mind.

Love Venue as a student. Went there a lot in first year, Vensday being an absolute favourite. There are a variety of events for all music tastes, from House to Cheesy pop hits! As a woman, I feel extremely safe in Venue, the security being very present and aware. There are the perfect amount of security, scanning the floor constantly, while also staying perfectly out of the way. Decent drink deals, decent drink pricing and good entry pricing.

Great drinks deals and fairly cheap entry. Only open to students and their guests so really student friendly! I personally think Vensday is the best night for music and atmosphere as I love a bit of cheese, but nxt and other nights are popular too. Great location on campus!

Good campus club, decent night out but could do with cheaper drinks seeing as it is supposed to be a student night club.

The Venue is the most popular club in Kent due to the location of it being central to main campus. It caters for different people and different music types as it has events on various days of the week. I prefer to go on Fridays to NXT where it's more now music - R&B/Grime/Bashment/Afrobeats. The drinks are really cheap meaning you don't need to take a lot of money with you and the cash point on site makes it easy if you need money. The club can get packed sometimes making it hard to move and get around but this depends on which night you go. People tend to be very friendly there, overall it's a very club personally for me on a Friday.

Very student friendly and a decent night out. The music isn't usually great, so pre-drinking is a must. Usually cheap drinks, especially on a Wednesday.

Some nights it's very busy and a great night but sometimes it's so empty, also the drink prices are okay but there are many cheaper alternative places in canterbury

Good if you're a first year on campus however a bit boring and ridiculous ques to get in. Would be better if they had more variety of music or did a night dedicated to rock music or something like that.

This is okay on Wednesday or Friday but when you go to venue it is pot luck if it's going to be dead or not, most of the time there isn't many people in there and the atmosphere is lacking. The same playlist is played each Wednesday so gets very repetitive and drinks are more expensive than most places in Canterbury, go out in town

I like the size of the venue it is able to hold around 1000 students! The location is great also for university of Kent students as it is in the centre of campus. It has a great student atmosphere on Wednesday and Friday nights specifically and the music selection can be good ( but not always!) however I suppose that is down to personal preference. It's a fairly cheap night out also with tickets ranging from £4-7.

Venue good Music not very diversified only mainstream top 40 Needs greater range of music genres Cheaper drinks and entry

The staff are very friendly and are quick to serve you. Special events can make it very crowded inside. Not long waiting in the queue to get inside. There is one floor of music and a very spacious smoking area outside.

Pretty sure they have had the same playlist for the last 3 years. Each of the student nights are filled with first years and the drinks are overpriced.

Venue was always lit, with the cheapest drinks, hence why it was the club I was the most waved in. For your first year it’s convenient because right in the middle of campus. In terms of music nxt was the best night because it had a mixture of rnb, hip hop and commercial. I would definitely recommend as everyone is always down for a laugh and it’s a crazy atmosphere, and if you get wasted you’re not too far to sway home, unless you live in parkwood which is always a trek lol.

The only event that I would recommend is NXT which is on a Friday. They play good music such as RnB, grime, hip hop, trap etc. The entry is only £5 and everyone always have so much fun!

It's great, nice drinks, nice price, crowded quite a lot of the time (but that's because it's so good), nice bartenders, just an all-round amazing vibe about it

Good drink prices Good security Good music Student friendly Open often Big dance floor Themed nights Efficent Cloak room

The venue has a decent night out but it depends on the day you go otherwise the atmosphere is just quite dead because it’s such a small venue. I also wouldn’t recommend going if you’re only in a small group or it could just get quite boring quickly.

The venue is a student club, with no interest in playing good music at all. If you go, its to hang out with friends, dance in a room crowded with young and sweaty students but still have fun with cheap drinks and a couple of cigarettes. I think it has potential to be a great night out if they would choose to move away from commercial music of any sort (RnB Hip Hop Grime - NXT) (Chart Music Classics Pop - Vensday), etc, and move towards a more interesting sound that stimulates young people to dance and discover new music rather than sing along to the same songs every week and get wasted.

It's a good student bar, great for freshers week and introducing yourself to new people. Sticky floors but great music!
