Being the second largest city in England it has so much to offer! There are many different areas within the city for nights out. In digbeth the events are more techno and drum and bass but on Bristol road you have your more conventional chart playing clubs. Birmingham also has a large and wonderful gay village with bars and clubs. Being a very diverse city the food is too. In soho road you have wonderful authentic Asian food. In New street you have a mix of different cuisines and moreknown restaurant chains. The bullring and the mailbox are fantastic places to shop.

Birmingham City Centre is a great hub for all types of student. It boasts great nightlife and shops as well as museums and restaurants. I love walking to Cannon Hill park in the good weather, or having a cream tea in the Edwardian tea rooms when it rains.

Fantastic location for those who love the city also isn’t too far away from small towns and villages. Great transport links to the north and south also not too far away from the airport if you’re an overseas student. Wouldn’t change Birmingham for anything. BRILLIANT UNI!!

The location of the BCU city centre campus is amazing if you don't live there. You have many restaurants in the city centre including cheaper brands such as McDonald's and Wetherspoons that guarantee you will save some cash. There are lots of shops like the works or the pound shop where you can buy university equipment from that is much cheaper than the uni shop. And if you are in need of any extra clothing you are spoilt for choice in the bullring. However if you have accommodation in the city centre you find yourself stuck when it comes to doing a cheap food shop. There are no large supermarkets near by it is all Tesco Expresses or Metros or Sainsburys Locals, which are expensive and drain your funds. The only option is to order food online but with a minimum spend you better make sure your whole flat wants to shop together or else you're burning cash either way.

Amazing location. I loved it. Would consider doing masters in this area again. Good range of societies however the guild don't help to run them very much and the sports clubs don't often take notice. Careers service were a waste of time when I went for advice

Nights out are great, there’s something for everyone. Although you do get a lot of creepy guys in Pryzm on a Saturday night.... Broad street it incredible for night life but also for post-club pit stop. The cinema is great too. Links from UoB into town are great, with the £1 bus going from the vale to the centre of town. If you’ve got a railcard, the train is so cheap too!! Shopping in the bull ring is amazing, and if you don’t want to buy your clothes new, the vintage kilo sales in the church by the bull ring is such good value!

My university is surrounded by so much nature and architecture. It is very aesthetically pleasing. Also, there are quite a few restaurants around campus, with a variety of foods ranging from Asian to Turkish food. It is also, a mere 10 minutes away (by bus) from the city centre, making shopping journeys easier and more fun!

Notably only two hours from London, Birmingham is perfectly located in the country for visits from family or friends. Birmingham New Street station has also just been refurbished (opened by HM the Queen) and the train schedule is so good, there are links from Selly Oak/University Station to town at least every 10 minutes. There are so many leafy suburbs and parks to visit, but also almost as many city attractions as London, but without the price tag. The place also really does match the stereotype of chatty northerners, with everyone being really friendly and welcoming and normal! I accepted my offer from Birmingham over Cambridge largely because of this! 10/10 would recommend Birmingham to anyone #lovebrum

Not much entertainment near by just cinema. There is also good food for my university but it doesn't cater for halal foods which I need. Also the canteen closes early. The shopping is very good and it is enjoyable to be honest.

I love the location of BCU. The school pub is close to the city centre campus. There are many close bus stops that are basically right in front of the campus buildings. The buildings are clustered so its not a long walk.

My university isn't too far from my house and it's easy to get to aswell. My teachers are really helpful.

Nights out in the general area are wuslity times where you can relax and take your mind of university. The food is also great for the reason that its halal and cheap... theres alot of stuff you can do in birmingham to have fun including the bull ring and another great thing is that transport is very good. The public transport is normally punctual.

There’s a good range of pubs around the student area of Selly Oak, loads of takeaway options, and couple of nice parks. There’s also the canal which you can walk/cycle to uni. Nearby in Edgbaston there’s the Wildife Conservation Centre which is really fun if you’re an animal lover, there’s also Sea Life in Birmingham city centre. There’s a huge range of shops and a broad range of nights out, like the raves in Digbeth or the more mainstream clubs on Broad Street, as well as the Gay Village clubs and Arcadian. I love Birmingham because there is so much to do!

I chose my Uni purely because it was supposed to be one of the best for teacher training and that was the plan after my Undergrad. Newman is part of a great city with lots to do. A short bus ride from the main campus will take you to the heart of Birmingham where there are plenty of clubs and bars for those looking for a good night out. For foodies it is also a great location with Pop-ups like Digbeth dining club showcasing a variety of foods from different corners of the world. Birmingham is a great location for students too as the cost of living is fairly cheap especially in comparison to London.

Overall great city. You have a lot of places to visit, shop and eat. However, it can be a little expensive given that it is quite a big city, especially if you're living or studying around the ciry centre.

Its basically in the city center. Everything is close by and the best part is that bull ring, the biggest mall is only like 10 min walk. Night life scene is mostly concentrated around broad street and that is 20 mins by walk or 5-7 min by taxi. Birmingham is a cheap city and everything on the door step. Uni is small compared to other universities but It has everything.

There are good and bad areas in all places, but go to the right areas and it’s an amazing city. Brindleyplace is a lovely area so drink and eat especially when the sun comes out and you’re over looking the canal. Clubs in general are not my thing but I’ve had very good nights out on broad street and in Arcadian. There are endless things to do in Birmingham (you need a car for it to be accessible) public transport such as buses are woeful and are forever running late or choosing their own route (strange) but all in all I love the city and have decided to stay here when I finish my course

Everything to do with Birmingham is incredible. A very overlooked city in my opinion, it has everything. Fun nights out in many variety’s, much entertainment, friendly people. Cheap drinks and food. A very student city and fun place to live.

There's pretty much everything you could possibly want here and everything is in close proximity of each other. The only issue I have is the transport stops quite early, and would prefer if the trains ran through the night even if they were only once an hour.

I love Birmingham though compare to London it’s just a countryside, but it has everything I need and I jut love the atmosphere of city center, there are many shops that we can visit and buy anything you want to but it just so great!!

There is a lot to do on nights out - many stunning amazing restaurants in the colmore row business district (if you’re looking for luxury) and amazing clubs on broad street. There are also stunning restaurants such as Varanasi on broad street so it is an amazing city food wise even if you’re on a low student budget. There are tonnes of shops in the bullring, grand central and on the high street so you really are spoilt for choice! There are places such as star city to play mini golf, bowling, laser station and a tonne of restaurants there too which isn’t far from the city centre!

I think there is everything you would need in Birmingham. My campus - the city centre one is right in the heart of the city and everything you need from shopping centers to pubs and clubs is right next to you. The campus is brand new and has all the latest things you need and that makes going to uni so pleasurable.

Great location central and spearheading the cities revitalization. Clean, modern and high tech facilities, walking distance to town centre and central shopping mall.
