Birmingham is the most amazing and contemporary city! Offers all the joys of London in a compact form! Very friendly people and huge parks like sutton park which is the biggest urban park in Europe

Birmingham is probably the best city to live in if you don't wanna experience the city life but not willing to spend a lot of money on everyday expenses unlike London. It has restaurants for every cuisine that you could ask for ranging from high end to low end. In terms of shopping we have the well known bullring and gran central which has every brand you could think of. Transport system is excellent here with connection to all the other cities and as for night outs we all know Birmingham is one of the most lit people living!

Although there are plenty of options and places to eat. There isn't much do for entertainment especially for those who prefer to stay active then eat.

I love Birmingham as a city. It always has something going on, always something to do, which is great as a student. However, I have found the people here to not be very friendly, definitely not as friendly as some other cities. Also, it is quite dangerous and that has worried me many times, and has made me alter plans before to avoid places/situations that I feel could be dangerous such as walking on my own in the dark.

The bullring is very nice but they need more activities and things to do for younger and older people, currently we all just walk around the shops

Birmingham has everything you need from a city. There are loads of places to eat from the usually chains to really great independent cafés and restaurants. The town centre has the huge Bullring shopping centre and Grand Central train station with a range of shops and food places inside. Places like Digbeth and Moseley have a few more low key venues and more great food. Like anywhere, there are good and bad places to live around the city but the value for money is excellent, especially compared with London (which is less than an hour and a half away by train).

Birmingham has tons of activities to choose from and do. Ranging from shopping, various dining places and different quirky activities such as Ghetto Golf and Lane 7.

There are many places to eat in and around Birmingham and all are very delicious. Many places can be expensive but most are definitely affordable. Places to shop such as the Bullring and Grand Central are great and have a variety of well known shops within.

The Birmingham City Centre is a great place to be on a night out. Especially the canals at Brindley Place with fancy pubs and great restaurants. The Bullring is quite famous for its architecture and the shops inside the mall are diverse and great for shopping sprees. However, once you leave the city centre, which is quite small to begin with, the suburbs look shady, the roads are bad and the littering is horrific. There is garbage everywhere and everywhere looks the same. So, besides the city centre, there's not much to see I'm afraid, if you don't take our big parks into consideration.

Big, lively city, a little run down and dirty in a few areas. Lots of places to eat on a night out whatever food you like or if you want to go to somewhere independent or a chain. Many supermarkets around for students with various pricepoints and many are surrounding student areas so are very close. There is many places to do large amounts of shopping: Bullring, merryhill etc. And is also a fairly cheap place to live.

Relatively good price, need to fix up parks and roads more and provide more recycling bins. Need to also provide easier access for disabled people

Really big city with loads going on, the shopping is amazing especially the bullring. Lots of great night clubs and bars to go to on broad street

Really good nightlife with good deals on drinks for students. Shopping centres incredibly nice and big with a good range of shops and restaurants for pretty much everyone.

Broad Street is probably the best place to go for a late night drink in Birmingham. Broad Street is almost nothing but bars and clubs it can be very 'lively'. Broad Street is sick for Stag and Hen nights. Most people are 18-25. Shopping is the best in Birmingham, with Selfridges&Co you can get all the luxury clothes and makeup etc and the bullring has loads of shops like H&M, primark, urban outfitters. There's also loads of places you can go for food. Some can be quite expensive though like fumo (but very nice).

Birmingham is great for nightlife and shopping, and you'll never be short of things to do. There are many bars and clubs, especially around the Broad Street area. The Bullring and NEC are the best places for shopping, there are a variety of high street and high end shops but there is something for everyone. There are also many other shopping centres and retail parks, if you prefer places that aren't as busy. The transport links are good and the buses and trains cover all of Birmingham and the Black Country. There are many restaurants all around the centre of Birmingham and in the different areas, from big chains to small local places. As for entertainment, there is a nice theatre and many cinemas, bowling alleys and other things to do around Birmingham. Ghetto Golf is definitely something to try out, its an experience unlike any other!

The shopping is amazing, the bullring&grand central has many shops, ranging from designer to high street. The food options are wide too, you can try food from all around the world, as Birmingham is very multicultural. There is a range of things to do, ranging from cultural things such as the selection of different museums in birmimgham, to the night life.

Birmingham may be your best placd to have some fun, there are a lot of things to do here as daily activity here are also quite pack with students and employee. People here are amiable as they are willing to help even if suddenly you turn to a beggar and begging some money from them. There are also shopping center here, you may have one of the best shopping experience with those good seller and prices which is value to your money.

There are plenty of things to do in Birmingham. The food is very diverse so there are plenty of different cultural foods you can experience such as South Asian, Korean, Chinese, etc. The nightlife is great too! There are a range of different clubs and bars to visit and enjoy. On top of that everything is decently priced. The transport is good but there can be delays on the buses and trains sometimes. Other than that, Birmingham is a pretty good place to stay.

As a born and bred Londoner, Birmingham is a great city to move into. Broad street is one of the best streets that reminds me of back home. As soon as night comes, broad street comes alive. The clubs here range from really good to adequate enough. Pryzm on a Tuesday is probably one of the nights I look forward to every week. Takeout is very cheap especially at eat4less and the quality of the food is the normal fast food chain standard. Also, there are many different types of cuisines sold here as Birmingham is the city of culture. Bullring is a very good shopping centre and nearly manages to mirror Westfields in London. Bullring offers many brands as well as many small chain clothing stores which offers variety in your shopping trip. There are many things to do in Birmingham such as going to visit the Cadbury Factory, kilo sales that occur in the Custard Factory, going to Star City to watch a movie and sipping on their killer oreo milkshakes. Overall, Birmingham has been an amazing experience for me. I see a prosperous future in Birmingham as there are many job opportunities here. However, one of the factors that I struggle with is that if you're living in a town like Edgbaston then you'll have to prepare to travel a bit for shops like Tesco and ASDA. So a car is definitely ideal!

Hello I would first like to start of by saying Birmingham is an amazing city with so many things to do and such diversity. At first people would often talk negatively upon the city but these are all people that have never took the chance to come and see for themselves so please come visit! it's clear that everyone has preferences and that's fine but at least come and collect your own perspective instead looking from outside the window. This city is lovely and as long as you don't look for trouble it's obvious that trouble won't easily find you so you should just focus on setting your priories straight and you should be fine!

Great expanding city- lots of places to go for nights out including cool bars constantly opening. There's new restaurants and cafes opening weekly and the shopping is amazing.

Birmingham gets a bad reputation but these days it is undeserved. It has become one of the most interesting cities to live in with choices for food, shopping, entertainment and an endless list more without the sky high prices you might find in London. Without a doubt, everyone should give Birmingham a go.
