Although Birmingham is a very busy city it is packed with the best shops, bars and restaurants perfect for a day out shopping for all the family. Or similarly for nights out or going for a drink it has plenty of bars and nightclubs to cater and suit every age group.

Birmingham has a strong selection of clubs, restaurants and shopping outlets but could do with more independent food vendors or shops. Public Transport within the city is good, with buses, trains and trams all for a good price and allowing contactless payments.

Birmingham is a vibrant and exciting city harbouring a range of restaurants and bars, providing something for everyone. There's a range of different nights out you can try, Broad Street for main and big name clubs, the Jewellery quarter for a refined drink with some live jazz music and Digbeth for house music and early mornings. If you enjoy exercising, there a multitude of different gyms at extremely competitive prices from pure and easy gym, to JD and the gym as well as swimming pools and spas. Students can enjoy a range of discounts in the city centre at many mainstream eatery's as well as various independent options. For foodies, the Digbeth dining club is a winner with a vast range of food stalls to try and new and exciting drinks.

Lots of things to do! There's the bullring which is situated in the city centre. Bullring is a massive shopping complex and there's a cinema as well! You'll never be bored in Birmingham - you can also do go karting, laser tag etc.

Nights out for students in Birmingham are very lively and as student nights happen during the week so majority of the people out and about are round about the same age, making nights out enjoyable with recognisable music and cheap drinks. There are plenty of places to eat in the city centre with a wide range of cuisines. No doubt shopping wise the place to be is the bullring shopping mall, with 3 floors of all different stores, including designer stores. There is also resorts world not too far from city centre. Overall the value for money in Birmingham is good especially from a student's point of view when considering things such as accommodation, food, nights out, and things to do.

Excellent high street shopping but not as good charity shopping, very good mixture of nightlife. Crime is quite bad as to be expected in a big city. Good atmosphere in general. Unique bustling place to be

People are lovely and the night outs do not require heels (which is fantastic). It's quite affordable to study here and public transport is good. Trains are efficient. It is very diverse which is reflected in the supermarkets. There are a variety of beauty and food products that are specific to different cultures in the shops. Quite refreshing to see.

Is a big town with lots to do, whether its 2pm or 2am. Clubs have a big variety and cater for everyone's taste. Altogether, for a young person who is exploring the world, Birmingham is filled with oppurtunity.

A nice variety of everything but there's still not enough. Everything's fairly similar to eachother which makes it easy to make decisions, but annoying for options

As a student I just love Birmingham city as it always filled with so much life and there is never a dull moment. From all the fabulous restaurants and bars, to the numerous cinemas not to mention the VIP treatment you get at Everyman cinema. Birmingham also has an amazing location for young people or even famillies to hang out called Starcity which has the perfect combination of restaurants and activities such as bowling mini golf and of course another cinema (Perfect location for a first date). Birmingham also supplies you with a range of clubs on broad street and around china town. Whatever your music taste is there is a club for you whether it be R&b and hip hop, house or garage Dancehall reggae or afrobeats you will find your home for the night. Birmingham has so much to offer the average person and compared to other big cities such as London it is so much more affordable to get around,Dine out and even party (remember this is coming from a university student). So come and let Birmingham surprise you with endless enjoyment.

The Bullring is a great place for shopping and has some nice restaurants as well. Also, the city in general has a great array of places to eat. You can have good night out in some of the clubs too.

Nights out are great massive range and variety of different places to go, again food and shopping great Birmingham has everything. However travel is a nightmare the amount of roadworks always going on constantly, you're better off walking round central Birmingham than driving you'll get places quicker.

Birmingham is a very big city with a lot to do. The Bullring has every shop you would need and there are restaurants to suit everyone. The nightlife is amazing and the clubs are very safe and reliable. Prices are reasonable and transport is very cheap.

I love Birmingham. The nightlife is amazing and offers great versatility depending on the kind of night you want and where in Birmingham you want to go. Car Parking can be expensive however, there's not really much need to drive as you can reach every corner of Birmingham by train.

Birmingham is like a cheaper and smaller version of London. There are serval good locations to have a good night out from pryzm in broad street to indi bar in Arcadian to lab11 in digbeth. Shopping wise - Birmingham has pleanty!! There are always new pop up shops in the bullring walkway and there are all the essential shops such as Zara, topshop and boots! Restaurant choice is also huge, whatever you fancy eating, you'll find.

Birmingham is a great place to live for students as there are amazing shopping places in the bullring and lovely goodness places. The best places for food and drinks is the mailbox or Brinley place. It's a lovely place to have quite cocktails and food. For more of a night out there is broad street for the 'r and b' sorta nights, I'd you are into more alternative nights, try digbeth or a club called uprawr, both great places
