Nice location, with decent sightseeing, although could be very grey in winter and autumn time, not much to do, but city centre is small and easy to go around.

Being the second largest city in England it has so much to offer! There are many different areas within the city for nights out. In digbeth the events are more techno and drum and bass but on Bristol road you have your more conventional chart playing clubs. Birmingham also has a large and wonderful gay village with bars and clubs. Being a very diverse city the food is too. In soho road you have wonderful authentic Asian food. In New street you have a mix of different cuisines and moreknown restaurant chains. The bullring and the mailbox are fantastic places to shop.

The location of the BCU city centre campus is amazing if you don't live there. You have many restaurants in the city centre including cheaper brands such as McDonald's and Wetherspoons that guarantee you will save some cash. There are lots of shops like the works or the pound shop where you can buy university equipment from that is much cheaper than the uni shop. And if you are in need of any extra clothing you are spoilt for choice in the bullring. However if you have accommodation in the city centre you find yourself stuck when it comes to doing a cheap food shop. There are no large supermarkets near by it is all Tesco Expresses or Metros or Sainsburys Locals, which are expensive and drain your funds. The only option is to order food online but with a minimum spend you better make sure your whole flat wants to shop together or else you're burning cash either way.

My university is surrounded by so much nature and architecture. It is very aesthetically pleasing. Also, there are quite a few restaurants around campus, with a variety of foods ranging from Asian to Turkish food. It is also, a mere 10 minutes away (by bus) from the city centre, making shopping journeys easier and more fun!

Not much entertainment near by just cinema. There is also good food for my university but it doesn't cater for halal foods which I need. Also the canteen closes early. The shopping is very good and it is enjoyable to be honest.

Nights out in the general area are wuslity times where you can relax and take your mind of university. The food is also great for the reason that its halal and cheap... theres alot of stuff you can do in birmingham to have fun including the bull ring and another great thing is that transport is very good. The public transport is normally punctual.

I chose my Uni purely because it was supposed to be one of the best for teacher training and that was the plan after my Undergrad. Newman is part of a great city with lots to do. A short bus ride from the main campus will take you to the heart of Birmingham where there are plenty of clubs and bars for those looking for a good night out. For foodies it is also a great location with Pop-ups like Digbeth dining club showcasing a variety of foods from different corners of the world. Birmingham is a great location for students too as the cost of living is fairly cheap especially in comparison to London.

Overall great city. You have a lot of places to visit, shop and eat. However, it can be a little expensive given that it is quite a big city, especially if you're living or studying around the ciry centre.

Its basically in the city center. Everything is close by and the best part is that bull ring, the biggest mall is only like 10 min walk. Night life scene is mostly concentrated around broad street and that is 20 mins by walk or 5-7 min by taxi. Birmingham is a cheap city and everything on the door step. Uni is small compared to other universities but It has everything.

There are good and bad areas in all places, but go to the right areas and it’s an amazing city. Brindleyplace is a lovely area so drink and eat especially when the sun comes out and you’re over looking the canal. Clubs in general are not my thing but I’ve had very good nights out on broad street and in Arcadian. There are endless things to do in Birmingham (you need a car for it to be accessible) public transport such as buses are woeful and are forever running late or choosing their own route (strange) but all in all I love the city and have decided to stay here when I finish my course

I love Birmingham though compare to London it’s just a countryside, but it has everything I need and I jut love the atmosphere of city center, there are many shops that we can visit and buy anything you want to but it just so great!!

There is a lot to do on nights out - many stunning amazing restaurants in the colmore row business district (if you’re looking for luxury) and amazing clubs on broad street. There are also stunning restaurants such as Varanasi on broad street so it is an amazing city food wise even if you’re on a low student budget. There are tonnes of shops in the bullring, grand central and on the high street so you really are spoilt for choice! There are places such as star city to play mini golf, bowling, laser station and a tonne of restaurants there too which isn’t far from the city centre!

I think there is everything you would need in Birmingham. My campus - the city centre one is right in the heart of the city and everything you need from shopping centers to pubs and clubs is right next to you. The campus is brand new and has all the latest things you need and that makes going to uni so pleasurable.

The University of Birmingham is very well connected with its own train station that goes directly to Birmingham New Street. The students halls are located only a short walk away and many students live in neighbouring Selly Oak, which also has its own train station on the same line as the university stop. There is everything you need within walking distance or a short train ride into the city centre. Buses are also not too expensive.

It’s good for a quiet space to work because of how quiet the uni is, being in the Perry Barr campus (city north) of Birmingham City University. The campus I live at involves a free bus pass which is very useful for getting around Birmingham, seeing as public transport is so expensive.

Birmingham City Centre is super convenient and super close to the university. Not to forgot being walking distance always help when you need to run and grab last minute party items. Nights out here known and everyday there a student night in some club, and don't worry there are always party no matter what time of the year. And let's not forget the food! You have a range of food types that range is price all located close to each other. Having the bullring and market so close to each other means you can really get your shopping done all at once without having to travel for for a good bargain. China Town also being so close means that you can get authentic food without having to travel to the other side of the world. Additionally, being multicultural society means that you can really get to learn about other peoples culture and share your own. There is always a sense of community in Birmingham which makes it homey.

Overall a very good city and highly recommended for students looking for everything they need within a close proximity. Central Birmingham caters to all cultural and personal needs as the city is so diverse. In regards to shopping, the Bullring has everything you need including various places to eat and shop. Entertainment you have places like star city where you can enjoy the cinema, golf etc.

The bars are great in Birmingham but costly on the weekend, the nightlife on the weeknights is amazing! Definitely an amazing student city! Food is great both cheap and fine dining and the bullring has shops selling all kinds of stuff, plus the market and high street next to it. There's some good parks as well but most entertainment is costly! But everything is at your fingertips!

There are lots of night out events in and around Birmingham for everyone! Broad street hosts a range of clubs playing top hits to old naughties and they often have student nights that are cheaper. There are also alternative places such as snobs and propaganda! Food in Birmingham is great! There are tonnes of vegan options and health food places like natural healthy foods as well as all the chain places like pizza express. There are so many little independent places that you are sure to find something! The bullring is the main shopping mall in Birmingham and has high end shops through to usual high street shops like topshop. If you venture down to digbeth there are also a tonne of thrift stores and little independent places

There's plenty of good places in a Birmingham for a fun night out! Some of my places include the digbeth dining club and brindley place. There's lots of shopping places around the bullring which is a 20 min bus ride away from uni.
