The shopping is amazing, the bullring&grand central has many shops, ranging from designer to high street. The food options are wide too, you can try food from all around the world, as Birmingham is very multicultural. There is a range of things to do, ranging from cultural things such as the selection of different museums in birmimgham, to the night life.

Birmingham may be your best placd to have some fun, there are a lot of things to do here as daily activity here are also quite pack with students and employee. People here are amiable as they are willing to help even if suddenly you turn to a beggar and begging some money from them. There are also shopping center here, you may have one of the best shopping experience with those good seller and prices which is value to your money.

As a born and bred Londoner, Birmingham is a great city to move into. Broad street is one of the best streets that reminds me of back home. As soon as night comes, broad street comes alive. The clubs here range from really good to adequate enough. Pryzm on a Tuesday is probably one of the nights I look forward to every week. Takeout is very cheap especially at eat4less and the quality of the food is the normal fast food chain standard. Also, there are many different types of cuisines sold here as Birmingham is the city of culture. Bullring is a very good shopping centre and nearly manages to mirror Westfields in London. Bullring offers many brands as well as many small chain clothing stores which offers variety in your shopping trip. There are many things to do in Birmingham such as going to visit the Cadbury Factory, kilo sales that occur in the Custard Factory, going to Star City to watch a movie and sipping on their killer oreo milkshakes. Overall, Birmingham has been an amazing experience for me. I see a prosperous future in Birmingham as there are many job opportunities here. However, one of the factors that I struggle with is that if you're living in a town like Edgbaston then you'll have to prepare to travel a bit for shops like Tesco and ASDA. So a car is definitely ideal!

Birmingham is a great place with lots of things to do, however I can't give 5 stars because you can never quite feel fully safe walking around town.

Birmingham was a great experience, and it is definitely an upcoming city. Living in Birmingham pushed me out of my comfort zone I found myself exploring different areas such as Perry Barr, Edgbaston and even go as far as Wednesbury (to IKEA lol) there’s great places to shop and great food outlets in and around the City centre.

Birmingham seems to have opened loads of new restaurants, bars, and other venues recently, especially in the city centre, meaning there’s loads of interesting events, so much different food, and always somewhere good to drink! There are also loads of great things to go outside of the city centre, like cannon hill park. Transport outside to the rest of the country is great, and there are a lot of trains and buses... but they don’t often run on time... Always a choice of places to go and not as expensive as other big cities!

The location of the major universities in Birmingham, in my opinion, perfectly suits students' lifestyle, especially when it comes to nights out. When choosing a university (UCB), I was excited to move to Birmingham and begin my study years as I knew the location will be easy to get used to and all the places (shops, clubs, accommodation) will be super simple to access. I would recommend this city for students who do not feel like stressing out and wondering in a new strange city, especially as freshers.

I love the fact that my university is located in the city center close to many bus stops and train station. However, I live in the very city center which makes my journey to uni a 25-minute walk, which sometimes can cause missing lectures or being late. Nevertheless, I prefer knowing that if I would ever need to get to uni asap, I will not need to stress out rushing to some public transport. In worst case, I can easily take a taxi which would not cost me much because of the distance. Also, it is good that a shopping centre and many places to get food at are located super close to Uni as well. That can save some long breaks during lectures or tutorials.

Many things to do, the area isn't always the safest but as a whole it's a very friendly and welcoming community. Great nightlife, digbeth is my favourite area to go

Best thing about Birmingham isn’t the city centre but Selly Oak, where all the students live after first year. There is always something going on

The actual uni is a campus and is located in selly oak which is a student town so its relatively cheap and lively but mainly full of housing. Need to either get a train or walk 40-60 minutes into the main city centre for shopping, cinema, etc and there are a lot of Uber’s for nights out on broad street

very diverse city which is amazing, surpassed my expectations of how diverse universities generally tend to be. A lot to do during the day aswell as night, very similar to london which I love, honestly didn’t expect this from the midlands. Everything is within close proximity and transport links are fairly good, easy to get between towns and even cities, suprised to see it only took 15 minutes to get to coventry!

It's very nice around edgbaston, lots of parks and bike friendly The city centre is perfect for shopping, visiting the canals (brindleyplace), loads of amazing clubs on broad street

Great city with loads to do but unfortunately, the uni (of Birmingham) is a bit further out. There are some great areas nearby for nice afternoons and the city centre has great nightlife, shopping and loads of places to eat - fully recommend Digbeth Dining Club which is now on three times a week!

Compared to other standard universities Solihull college and university centre was a lot cheaper. It saved me £3,000 a year on my course fees. With that though I felt that the facilities were not as good as a traditional uni. That being said I enjoyed my time there and felt very supported throughout my course. I would recommend it to anyone who wants qualifications without the traditional university life.

Birmingham is an amazing city to be apart of, the nightlife is one of its major perks as there’s always something to do. In terms of the shopping it’s also very good with a variety of shops and food outlets spotted around the city. Transportation methods are also relatively good as there are many buses to all areas, a tram through the town and there are 3 train stations in the city centre.

Love it here because the university is so close to the shopping centre! There are lots of shops and places to eat. I am so happy I went to this university,

University of Birmingham is a beautiful campus that makes it it's own bubble. Spots on campus to keep you busy include the lapworth museum, barber institute of fine arts, and winterbourne gardens. Not to mention having a beer in the new green heart or having a lie down in chancellors court to soak up some sun on a nice day. To leave campus, it's super easy with being the only uni in England to have a railway station on campus. A seven minute train journey takes you to grand central for food and shops, orstep out to the bullring or the markets for some discount fruit and veg. Overall fab location!!

Amazing culture and nights out. Great food has amazing variety. Town centre is good for shopping, the library is great and spacious. As for places to do, you have a lot of choice in that regard, cadburys world, star city, the mailbox, bullring and broad street. There are also the canals to walk around in or take a canal route by one of the boats. Other places are great for walks have amazing parks such as canon hill park. Overall a great vibrant city to be apart of.

The canal in Birmingham is very well maintained and the bars and restaurants are excellent. An ideal place to spend some time with friends and family after a long walk in the city centre.

I really like the location of my university as there are plenty of public car parks nearby, which are also easy to get to. My uni is also only a 5-10minute walk to the bullring shopping centre and New Street, which is very good if I wanted to go shopping after my lectures.

Birmingham is a great city for students , especially for those who come from abroad. It is multicultural and has loads of great things to offer such as volunteering opportunities, jobs, night clubs, parks, transport and close proximity to all bigger UK cities such as London, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Bristol etc.

Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas provides plenty of day time activities as well as numerous clubs and bars. Some parts of the night life can be repetitive, as the clubs are fairly similar, but this is not a major issue most of the time, as the bars differ greatly. Massive array of shops in the bullring, town, and down corporation street.

Birmingham is in the process if being majorly redone and mordernised, there is always student accommodation being made as well as popular shops bein expanded like Primark. New Street station is very accessible to all university in case of trips and/or going back home if students dont live in birmingham. There is always on somewhere around the city for people to enjoy whether it be a midweek student night or a quiet market stroll on the weekend.
