The facilities that are provided are all new and amazing. The rooms are more spacious than other residences I've seen. All in all it is a nearly perfect place to be living as it is also right behind the curzon building where I have most of my lectures. However I find that the rules of the building are a bit too strict and some of them are quite unfair. It has left some people I have spoken to saying that they feel like they are living in a prison.

The accommodation is nice and clean, common room has stuff to do in, the security are nice and friendly.

The location is good cause I only have to walk 5 minutes to uni and 5 minutes to town. The rooms are a generous size and the kitchen is also good. However, the building itself always seems to have a problem and maintenance takes a while.

The location is prime if you go to BCU city campus - literally 2 minute walk to lectures! Also only 10 minutes into town which is so handy! The accommodation is very new and therefore everything is modern and clean, which is a great attribute for student accommodation to have. Its protected by 24 hour security so you'll feel very safe - especially those who are slightly nervous about moving away from home. Overall I highly recommend this accommodation!

Security is strict and having visitors is very limited. No flat parties or gatherings either, I know it's to keep people safe but it's also supposed to be my home

Good accommodation, quite nice and homely. Not many problems. Security are extremely strict, need to allow more guests and more than two guests to stay over per month. Difficult to make friends as there were no welcome socials or mingling activities.

The halls themselves are very modern and clean. The accommodation staff are lovely, understanding and very quick to solve any problems you may have. Security staff are insatiably annoying and massively strict where completely unnecessary. Cleaners keep the building clean but stop at flat doors unlike most other accommodation buildings which is slightly frustrating.

Good location, bad security that will not keep you safe and slow to fix problems or help. Receptionists good though.

These halls are very clean & brand new. All appliances work and you get a lot of space in your room. I lpved my room and the staff are helpful!

Perfect location, a minute walk to curzon building and a ten minute walk into town. Nice and modern and the security always available to help

Location is great being so close to both the university campus and the city. Rooms and kitchens are all a nice size too. Security and receptionists are stupidly strict given all the residents are adults and have been known to kick guests out, shut down parties and not allow visitors to enter on countless occasions.

Staff are nice. Location is perfect. Flats are a good size, and rooms are too. Still had some teething problems when first moving in, and the rubbish doesn’t get cleared very quickly but overall I love it here.

Great location and really new modern building. The only issue is the extremely strict security, security guards enter the flats for random checks, you’re only allowed one visitor overnight and have to give 3 days notice of them staying. The level of security often makes you feel like an intruder in your own home.

Security is way too strict and the hallway looks unfinished( despite being a ‘new build’)and always smells of bins. Packages end up in other people’s mail box and you’re restricted on a time when to collect your own belonging in which you paid for. You’re not allowed to park in the car parks on the halls site, despite paying to live there, however staff can and that’s it. It’s a joke.

The accommodation might be good for the average person but I'm a wheelchair user who has severe muscle weakness and limited mobility. When I arived to move in in September 2016 they told me that my electric bedroom door was accidentally fitted to the wrong room in our flat. Over a year later they still haven't put my sensor opperated door on my room. The cupboards in the kitchen are in no way accessible but they do have a lowered work too and hob on one side of the kitchen. Other than that the halls are nice. good location. There's a social space/common room with a tv, pool table and a small kitchen and a music room. The only other problem is that as a disabled woman I need a live in carer to help with every day things so I have to pay for another room with no extra funding which I think it's discracefull. Just because I'm disabled I have to pay double what everyone else pays!

University Locks is located literally 2 minutes walk from the City Centre campus, making it easy to roll out of bed and into a 9am lecture! The building is only a 10/15 minute walk from the Bullring shopping centre and New Street station. All of the kitchens are equipped with very modern cooking facilities such as cookers, microwaves, and include a kettle and a toaster, which are often not included in other university halls. It’s very easy to make friends at University Locks, as there are 4/5 flats on each floor so you bump into people from other flats a lot. There are 2 common rooms: one with pool tables and a TV for relaxing, and another which is a designated work space. The rooms are very modern and spacious, which come with a 3/4 sized bed and a large en-suite bathroom. The only negative of the building is the price, which is very steep!

It's so helpful for me at the conservatoire, being only about 5 minutes walk away. It is overall quite pricey but this is an almost brand new accommodation building so the price is fair. The staff are friendly and helpful and keep the building in good, clean condition.

It’s very nice accommodation but not worth the money for the size communal area I got. The disabled communal area had much more space which is what I was originally shown when looking at the accommodation. In wasn’t shown the small flats as I thought they were all the same. The bedroom and ensuite are perfect size. I was put with all girls not by choice and I think they should have let us know that if I had said no preference.

The facilities of the accommodation are excellent. The rooms are comfortable and provide an excellent working atmosphere. The main living space is welcoming however some of the cooking areas are too small for 7 people to use in the corner flats. Despite this, the flats offer a great area for socialising and general living. The location is excellent for visiting the library and the city centre campus however the route to the accommodation from the student union pub requires you to be vigilant to make sure you’re always safe when it is dark.
