The location of the accommodation is very good, it's on campus so it takes literally a minute to walk to uni, as the university is in the city centre you are at walking distance to a lot of places. This accommodation only accommodates first year students as well so the people you will be living with will be in the same boat as you. The halls of residence are cleaned regularly and hygiene is never an issue as regular maintenance takes place with maintenance on your room being on demand whenever you need it. Overall a very good halls of residence to stay at during your first year at university.

The rooms have a lot of space to put your stuff and the kitchen is also big to have yours friends round. You can also report if anything breaks or is not working properly and they fix it very fast.

The room was ok. The walls are too thin so you can literally hear everything in the next room. The toilets are too small too.

Room is spacious compared to other halls, bathroom could be slightly larger but lovely desk and bed. Very hot, air conditioning would be a plus. Kitchens are good, plenty of room for all housemates to be in there at once.

Not the best at all, the showers were tiny and very unclean shower heads. The carpets were full of dust and dirt everywhere. Loud neighbours all the time. Building is also designed so that the only way to get ventilation is to have bedroom doors open, which isn’t great and really bad for privacy, so it’s always really warm.

Such a fun place to live as a fresher! I would definitely reccommend joining in those floor sessions during freshers week.. also make sure you buy a doorstop and keep your room door open! Really is the easiest way to make friends

The halls are really good and the rooms are considerably better than my friends' rooms at other universities. These halls can sometimes be too warm and you have to change into something different so you don't overheat.

I have been staying here for over 3 months and so far it's been memorable with nice flat mates as well as proper facilities. The environment is very safe and everyone is very friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this halls of residence to all new students thinking of joining this university. The halls of residence is not far from the university campus making it very convenient and cheap for students.

By far the best 1st year accomodation on campus for aston uni students. Both blocks are where the parties are at in the first few weeks and where most first yr students live. Rooms are adequete size and bathrooms are okay. All rooms are ensuite and kitchen is healthy size. Located 5 mins from city centre and on campus so uni is on your door step.

It’s so close to town and on campus. Couldn’t find a better place to stay. Absolutely love it. Unfortunately it’s for first years but I’ll be staying with the same company next year.

The fire alarms are not sensitive enough. This is a major health hazard and should be sorted as soon as possible

Single bed with ensuite, quite expensive for what it is really but very convenient location. Kitchen cleaned not very often.

Great city centre accommodation. The accommodation is in a great location, very short walk to lectures, library and Tesco. It is new, clean and well kept with some amenities provided. The room itself is a fair size with a small but good bathroom/washroom. The one downside would be the price, which is expensive but the going rate for city centre Birmingham accommodation.

Mad the amount of good times we had and the amount of people we met during the first year. Truly one of the best years of my life so far.

Nice accommodation, clean fully functional. Staff not particularly friendly, probably abit over priced.

I have had nothing but a great experience from living in James watt. The facilities and services provided by unite students are impeccable.

The location is perfect as in only a few steps away from my lectireswhich makes me more motivated to attend. The facilities are great especially the upkeep of the building such as maintainance and cleanliness of the common areas. As everyone is close together you will definitely have a social life as everyone is friendly and is in the same position as you.

The location of James Watt is ideal for someone studying at Aston University as it is literally 2 mins away from the main building and the library which is great. I like the fact that my block has a common room which allows me to mingle with other people in the block as the block has seventeen floors so it is filled with a lot of students. The common room is facilitated with a smart tv, a pool table and a vending machine.

Easy to get to uni, common room is good but gets locked over night which is annoying if you’re bored. Laundry is expensive in general but same price as everywhere else roughly
