The Metro service in Belfast is great - there are buses to basically all the suburbs and surrounding towns. The rail and bus services are good too, and they have good deals for students (1/3 off ticket price). Belfast caters for all tastes in terms of nights out - the Cathedral Quarter has some of the best pubs in town (I recommend the Duke of York because it has some good live music!) The shopping is really the best selection in NI, but could be better as it's quite spread out. In my opinion, the independent stores are the best (I like Octopus Garden for vintage clothes and Keats & Chapman for cheap books). There are SO many places to eat - from burger chains to quirky cafés (I like Nando's, Maggie May's and French Village). The majority of things in Belfast are value for money but you do come across some places that charge extortionate entrance fees or the like (TIP: the Ulster Museum is free to enter and has some really interesting cultural and historical exhibitions, it's worth a look) As for entertainment, most big concerts are held in Belfast, either in the SSE Arena or elsewhere - there is most definitely something for everyone.

Brilliant night life for students, clubs are reasonable in price and good value for money. There are many take aways and restaurants that have student friendly prices along with many shops which provide a student discount with the showing of a student ID. There are many new accomodation buildings within Belfast that give you a lot for your money.

Traffic is pretty bad so travel is too. Nights out are decent when you know where to go and when the student nights are (for cheaper drink). There aren't as many things to do in Belfast City Centre anymore which is dissapointing, it would be cool if they opened up better attractions all year round instead of just the christmas market over the christmas period. Overall, a decent wee city but coudl try harder.

Great food, especially the local food and markets. Plenty of shops and convenient regular buses with train station in the city centre. Some good music venues such as the odyssey arena and oh yeah music center. Generally most places to eat and shop in Belfast are good value for money, and plenty of things to see and do in your free time.

Belfast is a great city for multiple reasons. The big one that always springs to mind is the culture sector of the city. Belfast is an increasingly culturally aware city; the city even hosts a Culture Night once a year. And whenever it comes to shopping, Belfast is the best place to go. Whether you're old or young, male or female, Belfast is host to many shopping malls. Such as the all-famous Victoria Square shopping centre and Castlecourt. With a range of shops to visit, Belfast really is the place to be! People may be skeptical about going for a night out in Belfast, but may I reassure you! Go for a Pub Crawl with your mates. Go clubbing in some of the countries most famous clubs. Go on the newest addition to the city - the cycling bar! With all things considered, Belfast is one of the places to be!

Shopping options are great despite Primark's demise! Nights out are guaranteed good times and there's always good drinks promos on!

Overall my university experience at Queens university Belfast was amazing. I made lots of new friends and even had the opportunity to do an Erasmus study abroad programme which was once in a lifetime opportunity.

I've always wanted to go to Belfast for university as my brother and sister went when they were younger and did not regret it at all. I think Belfast is a great city and the nightlife is pretty good with food people.

I love the Queen's area, it's leafy and so pretty, with lots of nearby coffee shops, a museum, an arts centre and complimented by the Botanic Gardens. its only a 20 minute walk into the city centre high street shops.

Not a lot to do, a few halfway decent night clubs, only good thing is lots of Caffè Nero’s and a Tim hortons that only showed up at the end of the year - Victoria square is alright but of urban outfitters except McDonald’s and Levi’s are gone now, so belfast is becoming less exciting

The nightlife in Belfast is diverse you have cheesy nights that are played in clubs called lux and limelight, but it's fair to say techno has taken over with djs like mall grab and Dennis salta making appearances in the city weekly. The city centre itself is very modern and you will find everything you need and want in terms of shopping and refreshments. Although I do love that city, there's not much to do other than party and drink

Amazing city , the people are friendly , a warm welcome is always given and head out for a bite too eat at Victoria square and then head to Lux for the ultimate night out

In belfast they cater for the students. They have cheap nights out, university grouo activities. Parks for cheap lunches. Beautiful scenery. The university of belfast ulster has a very pretty garden at its entrance with benches to sit and eat lunch, you are beside the city centre and buses come very often. Its a brilliant location and great resources surrounding it.

Amazing nights out as there are so many clubs and bars to choose from within a closely nit space. So many shops within the city Center that there’s almost too much to do.

Great time with so many nightlife areas to go to and great atmosphere. Also so many top good spots for food such as boojum and Maggie May's.

Great nightclubs ( a bit small but still a fun night!), everything is within walking distance and has a great variety of shops.

The Uni is in an excellent location, it's really close to the student union building which has three different night clubs, it's about a twenty minute walk to the main shopping district of Victoria square which is unreal. The shops and cafes aren't overly expensive, good value for money.

I like Belfast, as it is a small cosy town in Northern Ireland. Everything is quite close, so you can basically walk wherever you need to go . The student atmosphere is vibrant, and the local people are welcoming. The only downside: the weather!

Amazing culture and proper Belfast relaxed nightlife in the cathedral quarter for nights out or day drinking! Cheap food so close to the uni as well

The food are nice. There are different kinds of food and Crusine. Also from different country. Whether economical or fancy food are all here around the university. There is a shopping mall where you can get many different things from a range of prices

The university is in a great location close to bars, cafes and shops and is not too far from the city centre. There is so many places to choose from for eating out or going for a drink with friends. The city centre has a large range of shops and you can get everything you need :) belfast has many tourist attractions such as the game of thrones tour, giants causeway and the titanic quarter. I'm really glad I moved to belfast and have loved living there :)

I think the university is well located within the streets of South Belfast. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. The elms accommodation is too far away though and parking is a nightmare.
