Bangor City is a nice place if you like quiet strolls and some good views, if you know where to look. During Christmas time the High Street is filled with Christmas lights that make it shine during the night making it really beautiful. Shopping is average but has shops like H&M, River Island and topman. For nights out there are only two clubs that people got to, the Cube and Academi. Academi is university owned and has some pretty good events on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The most amazing place ever, it has the best nights out, value for money here is great and shops are far and wide. There are also plenty of things to do here as well such as museums and great places to stay.

Nights out are good for Bangor having such a limit on clubs to go to. But I still had fun. There are various good options for food, takeaway, restaurants, cafés, etc. Some places to eat are cheap too. The countryside is the best thing about the city, and the architecture is stunning. You can see such beautiful landscapes and scenery in the city. Bangor, compared to somewhere like Manchester, feels like an escape from the chaos of modern life. Definitely check it out if you've not been before, spend a day or two there and you'll get a sense of the city early on.

Bangor is a lovely city for those who love the outdoors. Although it is quite small compared to other cities, which means there are limited options for food and nights out, the location makes up for it. Beautiful views of Snowdonia, and always places to explore if you're up for it. The size also makes it very walkable/commutable, which means you save money on transport!

The night outs are decent and affordable. The food is Devine and classy and cheap. Shopping is expensive yet with discounts it's useful. There's always things to do and places to go and clubs to join. It can be good value for money especially to us students.

There are plenty of shops of all different types, clothing, food, household, beauty etc... Bangor has quite good prices all round, most restaurants and shops aren't too pricy and student discount is usually available. Many pubs and a few nightclubs around town, Academi and Cube (nightclubs) have quite good reviews and I've had many friends go there. Only downfall I believe is public transport, I've often had buses not arrive on time or even at all. They are often late and sometimes get cancelled. Buses come roughly once an hour. Bangor is in a nice area as you can easily travel around and if you'd like to go out of Bangor you can just follow the coast to somewhere like Llandudno for a day out.

Although Bangor is a small city, it has a lot to offer. Everything is within close walking distance so you save a lot on transport. There are 2 popular nightclubs in Bangor; Academi, which is run by the student union, and Peep which is a general nightclub open to all the public. Academi has events on almost every night which have a great turnout. There are plenty of shops in Bangor, especially High Street which is full of them. There are a few supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi, all of which are within walking distance of the university's accommodations.

Bangor is a quaint city on the banks of the Menai straights. It is predominantly a student city with plenty of pubs and bars to keep yourself hydrated. The high street consists of a verity of shops and cafes, ranging from big name brands to smaller local businesses. The city’s football club also has a healthy following, a couple hundred fans watch every game at the stadium which is located on the outskirts of town. They also offer discounted tickets for students, the perfect way to spend your Friday nights before heading out for a big night in town. The main club is Cube which is by far the busiest in the city. Two floors of music and bars and a huge dance floor to match. Bangor is a perfect place to spend your years of studying if you’re looking for a small, quiet welsh city.

Nights out are surprisingly rich and full of diverse options despite Bangor being such a small city. The location is so beautiful and perfect for those aspiring to be a zoologist or just someone who loves being lost in nature. The high street has a good range of shops which supplies ones every need with every business having at least one rival company to make for quite competitive pricing. Alcohol is extremely cheap too. I’d average a pint to be £2.50 which is 50% cheaper than the majority of the south of England, especially London. Transport could be much better. The bus system is not very impressive but still very affective. One can get a direct train from Bangor to London which allows for a lot of freedom to go wherever you want on weekends.

I love bangor as I love the outdoors, it’s right by the mountains and the beach so there is an adventure to be had every weekend, there is also a high street with most of the shops you would want whilst at university, and a pretty decent nightlife. There were many underground music events every month which is great for me

With its location being basically within the mountains it is perfect for students that enjoy nature and travelling. The only downside is it's lack of life and anything other than students

In terms of getting to other places within the UK, Bangor is quite removed and hard to reach. However, the surrounding area is so gorgeous and if you're into walking, hiking, surfing, boating or swimming, Bangor is ideally located for you!

The nights out are somewhat decent- only 3 clubs in the town but this is decent considering the size of the town. Each club attracts different crowds and each are good in their own right. The shopping is a lot to be desired, but the food around is great- as is the value for money! The amount to do in the town revives all negatives, with the waterfalls, beach, mountains, pier, lakes etc all making for more than enough to do.

Bangor University is located in the most amazing city in the UK. Bangor is the smallest city, located right on the banks of the Menai Straights, and has a gorgeous backdrop of the mountains of Snowdonia. There are a wide variety of shops going down the sides of the longest high-street in the UK, and plenty of different places to eat, from comfy pubs, to noodles, and many small cafés. Although there are only two night clubs, everyone that visits them has the best nights out, and the clubs are accessible by foot within a few minutes from the city centre. As for entertainment, there is the Pontio centre opposite the city centre, where there are comedians, theatre shows, nights at the orchestra, the cinema and more! If that wasn't enough, it only takes a few pounds to hop on a train to Llaandudno Junction, where you can find a larger cinema, or to Llandudno itself, where there is a ski slope, pier, beach and a larger town centre with many high-street shops, and quaint sea-side holiday gift and sweet shops. I can safely say that when I accepted my offer to Bangor University, I had no idea exactly how much I would fall in love with the University and the city it thrives within.

Bangor is the perfect location with mountains on one side and the see on the other. It is a small town but there are easy transport links.

Bangor is perfectly placed between the mountains and the sea. It's amazing for walking, climbing, diving, going to the beach and a billion other things.

It's a nice and peaceful place to be. The food is a tad bit more expensive than where my home town(Swansea) is but overall it's a student's dream location. All the shops are nearby as it's a small city. Plenty of things to do. Only request would be, it would be nice to have a full-fledged cinema.

The mountains, coast and forest are on your doorstep which is great for any adventurer. There are also very good transport links

Althogh the nights out are good you are limited with the amount of places where you can go , and in general. However the area is beautiful there are lovely views and walks around in and around bangor including bangor mountain. You can get buses to places very easiky but I have loved a car.

Bangor is a great place to be a student, it's a really safe community that is a wonderful step between living at home with your parents and living alone in the big wide world. It's cheap to live here, with lots of options for supermarkets etc. The location is unrivalled, with mountains on one side and sea on the other, great for exploring and relaxing. The night life isn't crazy, but Bangor has plenty of pubs which make for a good but relaxed evening, as well as clubs if you want anything more.

Bangor is absolutely stunning, you have the Meni Straights where you can go and sit on the coast contrasted by the mountains and Snowdonia. There are plenty of bars/pubs in bangor with very reasonable student prices! There are a couple of clubs which are always busy too. There is a huge high street, but not many common restaurant chain other than fast food places.

Bangor is set in North Wales surrounded by scenic views. The location is excellent for walking, particularly llanberis and betwys y coed. It is a small but lively city, with Anglesey easily reachable across the Menai.
