The location was great, maximum 5 minutes away from any building on campus. It included food which was versatile every day. However the halls itself is quite old, that’s why there were constantly problems with hot water, shower, mould etc. But the social life was great and overall created a very nice and warm impression of my year in these halls.

Buildings are outdated but they are doing them up. Catered accommodation was a huge bonus - met great people, social rooms really handy. Can’t comment on hillhead but believe it’s a similar experience - probs far better now that it has the reasonably priced student bar.

As a chemistry student this was perfect for my first year as it is literally minutes away from Meston. The communal areas were always kept clean and I liked that it was catered. There was always someone available to answer any queries I had and the porters often went out of their way to help. I didn't throw myself into the social side of things the way I should have but from what I understand there were many opportunities and by the end of the year there was a real sense of community and many long term friendships were easily formed.

Good location for lectures and easy access into town. Food is sub par in catering - only get brunch on a Sunday and have to make your own dinner which is hard when cooking facilities aren’t supplied in your room - just a kettle a microwave and a toaster. Rooms were okay just a bit outdated
