#WellnessWednesday: Learning new skills to boost your wellbeing

Being creative and learning new skills is a great way of keeping your brain engaged. Find out more with our latest Fika blog.

The brain uses 20% of the body’s energy, which is why we often rely on doing things the way we’ve always done: habits require less energy. And if you’re still spending most of your time at home as a result of the pandemic, you’re even more likely to risk getting stuck in a rut. 

So why not try learning something new today, to shake things up a little for your mind and overall wellbeing? Research shows there are many benefits to trying new things, such as greater creativity and an improved ability to manage stress.

What’s something new you can try today? Maybe you could try learning a new language, or try a new exercise class or outdoor activity? You could try doing something creative, like painting or writing, or you could take an online course in an area of passion.
