“When it comes to health and wellbeing, regular exercise is about as close to a magic potion as you can get.” - Thich Nhat Hanh
150 minutes of exercise a week is the government recommendation. And it comes with a whole host of wellbeing benefits, from raised self-esteem to reduced stress (not to mention toned abs). But with gyms, pools and yoga studios still closed, getting regular exercise may have been more of a challenge over recent months.
This week, ahead of Love Parks 2020, how can you make up for that by getting out and active in your local park or outdoor space?
Maybe you could go for a long walk with a friend – or an endorphin-boosting morning or evening run? Or you could get creative and find some space for circuits, a yoga session, or a ball game.
During this period of continued lockdown and increased stress, the power of regular physical activity to improve mood and boost confidence is priceless. So put your wellbeing first this week, and make some time for fresh air and exercise in an open space near you. Your mental fitness will thank you for it!
