Join a Study Group
Although your friends can be distracting sometimes, going it alone when it comes to revision is a tough option. To stay focused, most people find it beneficial to study in groups, as you can keep each other on task.
Manage your distractions
Concentrating on revision can be difficult at the best of times, especially when your phone is going off every two seconds.
The best way to keep focused on the task at hand is to eliminate all the distractions around you. Turn that TV off. Keep the music to a minimum, or even have none at all. And most importantly, put your phone away until your revision session is over.
It might sound boring, but trust us, it’s worth it.
Consider Where you Study
Location is a very important factor in whether you’ll be able to concentrate during revision. Whilst many choose to study at home, and enjoy doing so, being surrounded by home comforts is enough to put some off from paying attention to their studies.
Why not try out the campus library? Most colleges and universities have plenty of spaces where you can put your head down and get some work in, so be sure to ask around to find an area where you can focus.
Give Yourself a Break
This might sound counterintuitive at first, but studying until you can no longer cope with it is not an effective revision strategy.
Instead of stressing yourself out, why not take an opportunity to take a break and come back refreshed. Having a cup of tea is a great reward between looking at sets of revision cards, and having a goal in sight can make the whole process easier.
