Sometimes we forget to appreciate the positives in life. Here are three things to cherish during your studies.

New friendships

At uni, you’ll have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. It's an amazing opportunity to make friends for life and to start networking for the future. Making international friends could even provide you with opportunities to travel. Not everyone is a social butterfly, but everyone can try to make friends.

Try and spend as much time with your friends as possible during your studies. You’re only an undergrad once, so you should cherish every moment. When summer comes around and exams and deadlines are over, you can gather your friends and have a BBQ in your garden. Then, when the summer holidays come around, you can start looking to attend festivals. There’s nothing better than enjoying your favourite artists playing live with your friends.

The things you love

University is an amazing opportunity to learn about something you truly enjoy. You should find a course that supports your future goals. Universities have a variety of facilities to deliver the best possible academic experience. Instead of just memorising textbooks, you can master your craft by using a variety of equipment across campus. University is the best time to take up new challenges and get some real-life experiences.

Your uni will know of companies offering internships and placements so be sure to check them out. You can also get experience through volunteering. This will set you up for success in your future career.

Even when assignments are hard, remember to not give up. Focus on the eventual satisfaction of completing your studies. Think about how rewarded you’ll feel once you finish.

New experiences

You've probably heard people say that the years you spend at uni are the best of life. You have the freedom to go on unforgettable adventures. This is a great time to start a new hobby or develop your current interests. At uni, you have the chance to sign up for loads of different societies. You can try the one you think sounds the weirdest or the one you think you’ll enjoy most. In fact, why not sign up for both?.

This is your first time living independently, so spend your time how you want.
