Natalia’s Student Diaries: More pets, more problems

This week Natalia’s holiday plans were transformed, but she’s taking it all in her stride. Find out what she’s been up to.

It’s been two months since my first post, and I can’t believe it! Time has flown by.

The snow melted a few days ago, meaning our trip to the mountains is officially cancelled. But I have some photos from my sister's trip if any of you were wondering how beautiful Poland is in the winter.

However, we're not giving up on our trip, and we’ve made plans to visit some friends in Poznan. I'm a bit of a control freak when travelling, so I've already planned out every day of the trip. I’m particularly excited to visit the zoo, which we always try to do when we go on holiday.

In other good news, my sister found two eggs in her gecko terrarium, which means they’re having babies! Now she has to buy an incubator to look after them for the next 70 days. If anyone has ideas for a name, then we’re open to suggestions!

Besides holiday planning and gecko news, I’ve had tonnes of uni work to do. I'm so grateful that we have an enhancement week at DMU because there’s nothing like that in Poland. Whenever my friends studying here tell me about their timetables, it makes me feel a bit better about mine!

I finished the Chinese exchange programme yesterday. I really enjoyed it, and I've learnt many important things about China and its culture. I’m now confident speaking Mandarin, and I can interpret a lot of the alphabetical symbols. Soon, I’ll have my certificate!

My dog, Rocky, finally got groomed, and he looks so much younger now. He was initially annoyed about us leaving him with a stranger, but after the lady treated him to some snacks, he forgot I was even there! His appointment took two hours, but it was worth it. He no longer looks like a quarantine dog; he's clean, fresh, and smelling amazing, thanks to his dog perfume. Check out photos before and after his transformation:

Look at the handsome boy!

Take care and look after yourselves!
