Lockdown is going better now I’m back at my family home surrounded by friends and loved ones. Since returning to Poland, I’ve barely found time for uni. I have a few important assignments around the corner but I’m enjoying the freedom so much that I’ve struggled to focus on anything uni-related.
Next week my group and I are presenting a project to Leicester City Council, so I’m a little stressed. I’ve always struggled with public speaking, which is a concern, but fingers crossed everything will be fine.
Last week I got an email from the Chinese Exchange Program. They noticed I’ve been taking Chinese classes for a while now and they invited me to join their online exchange programme! It’s a two-week course with workshops and lectures about Chinese culture. Obviously I'd rather visit China for real, but that isn’t a possibility for now, so this is the next best thing. The programme is totally free and anybody can sign up.
Do you remember the friend’s birthday party I mentioned last week? Well, I had no idea that laser tag could be so exhausting! It was really fun though. The first round was a bit confusing and I ended up getting shot a lot. But it was a great exercise in teamwork for me and my friends. I would recommend it to everyone!
This Valentine’s Day was the first that my grandparents had ever spent apart, as my grandpa was working in the UK. He’s the romantic type though, so a few days before Valentine’s, he asked me to help him surprise my grandma. I left some presents by her door, before texting him to call her. She absolutely loved the surprise. It's so nice that they’re still in love after 40 years of marriage.
To sum up, February has been awesome so far. It’s been amazing spending time with family and friends again.
