Making our roads safer with Highways England

In a bid to reduce the number of students involved in road accidents, Highways England wanted to gain a greater understanding of the drivers in their student demographic.

To do this we conducted a survey into the behaviours, actions and perceptions of students towards driving, car maintenance and car safety.

By utilising our Student Hut audience, we surveyed over 1,600 students studying at a college, undergraduate or postgraduate level. With a really high completion rate of 91%, we’ve captured an honest snapshot of this student demographic.

This research has successfully given Highways England greater insight into student perceptions towards driving. This has helped them to identify any gaps in students knowledge when it comes to road safety, and raise awareness of potential hazards.

Highways England have since issued this news release, which has been shared across news outlets including Motor1.com, MSN, RoadSafetyGB, Highways Industry magazine and more.

“We’re super pleased, and impressed with the work of Natives and Student Hut. The whole process was really smooth and we’re incredibly happy with the outcomes.”

Manjit Galsinh, Head of Insight and Evaluation.
