Are you looking to jet off this summer to a distant land? Whether it's a girls' trip of a well-deserved couple's break, here are the essentials you need.
It’s finally the moment we have all been waiting for - holidays abroad are almost a possibility! Whether you’re looking forward to a girls’ trip, a family getaway or even a highly-anticipated reunion with your long-distance partner, we know how exciting this is.
However, the future of travel is still uncertain, so you’ll need to do some research and preparation before you go gallivanting around the world. Here are five essentials you must have when booking the most incredible post-Covid holiday ever.
1. The right group
Who you choose to go on holiday with is crucial to the experience. It will decide what sort of holiday you’ve got ahead. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with nothing but sunbathing, exploring and sipping margaritas, then you’ll need a chilled group who want to do the same. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a messy holiday with lots of drinking, dancing and partying, make sure to go with the right crowd.
2. A mask and hand sanitiser
With travel on the cards, it’s easy to forget about the pandemic, but it isn’t over, and you shouldn’t forget that. Continue to wear masks, especially on public transport and in crowded areas like restaurants and bars. You should also read up on local Covid guidelines before travelling to determine whether it’s somewhere where you are safe and enjoy travelling to.
Do your bit to protect yourself and the community you are visiting. Get tested before travelling and try to stick to all the safety precautions. You might feel like you don’t have a care in the world, but you won’t want to see the borders shut again.
3. Sun cream
It doesn’t matter whether you’re jetting off to Portugal or going skiing - sun cream is the one essential you simply cannot forget this summer. Dermatologists recommend applying creams with SPF every day.
In addition to protecting your skin from ageing, you’ll avoid a face mask tan line. If you haven’t seen it yet, look it up and prepare to be horrified lather on that SPF 50 to protect your skin and your holiday pics.
4. Get insurance
Insurance is crucial this year. Remember, we live in unprecedented times, so having your fingers crossed won’t get you your money back in the case of cancellation. As we all know, Covid-19 is highly infectious. For additional security, check refund policies for everything you have planned!
5. A solid plan
You deserve an amazing holiday, so create an itinerary before you go so you can make the most of it. Try to squeeze every ounce of fun from the holiday and maybe even tick something off your bucket list!
