Freshers events were very expensive; I would recommend paying for a freshers wristband if you intend on going to at least 2 of the events as that would be a better value for money than paying the expensive price on the door and having to wait in the queue. The move in experience was easy because of the accommodation team helping carry bags into halls and showing you where you could park. The time slot to move in was also helpful was it meant the halls weren't overcrowded. Making friends is really easy on freshers week, you've just got to put yourself out there and go into the communal areas and meet people and ask if they plan on going to any of the events that day and ask if you could go with them. Prior to freshers week it may be a good plan to find the university freshers page for that year and ask who's living in your accommodation so you know peoples names prior to moving in.

The fresher week was mainly alcohol focused, with the events made being very expensive. I purchased a wristband and felt even though i attended every night I paid too much. The acts booked did not show up. Tramps was always too busy and drinks were too expensive.

Moving in was pretty easy as I was on the ground floor and just had to move a few boxes. The events were alright, mostly club based but there were a few at the uni. I met some nice people on my course. I would advise new students to talk to as many people as then can.
