The rooms and kitchens are well sized for student accommodation and having an ensuite is great especially during the times you’re feeling a little ill. Leodis only gets 3 stars for me because it is overpriced for what it is and the social side of te residence is somewhat lacking behind the other halls in Leeds

Close to uni and to the town centre there was no denying Leodis is in a great location for all freshers, despite the mountain of a hill you had to climb to get to uni every morning it was a quick walk (climb) to everything, which also meant you were pretty much guaranteed a same day appointment at the medical practice. For £125 a week you had a double bedroom with your own en suite shower room, and all bills included and maintenance guys ready to arrive on the day if you ever broke something. The rooms themselves were pretty decent in size and the showers were great as long as you timed it with the other guys in the flat so that it wasn’t freezing when you get in yours. The only things that would have been nice to have would have been washing machines (circuit laundry drains your student loan faster than their drying sequence takes to finish). Having about 12 washing machines between the whole of Leodis wasn’t exactly well thought through, and having to drag your washing across the car park wasn’t my favourite experience from living there. Sort it out. The social aspect of Leodis was great, especially if your lift was broken for 4 months and you had to walk from floor 6 down just to get out of the building. Although the flats in most blocks weren’t big enough for hosting a massive pres the ones closer to the main road were perfect and also not as frequently checked by security after 11 when the noise was supposed to be lowered (unless some dickhead put in a complaint). Despite this we managed to have a relatively big welcome drinks in freshers week so we could get to know the people in our block and we still talk to the guys we met now and some are our closest friends. The common room at leodis is big but I think I only ever went in there 3/4 times in my year there. One wasn’t out of choice it was for a meeting for a noise complaint against our flat. The others were for social events Leodis had put on, there was a summer hog roast where we got inflatables and weird carnival things for the afternoon and that was free for us. Overall Leodis wasn’t OMG amazing but it was pretty good, and I’m glad I chose it as Home for my first year at uni.
